Friday during the day will feature another optional bus tour of Forbes Road from rom Sequanota to Fort Dewart, and the Friendly Fire site, to Ligonier. The group will have dinner at Fort Ligonier and see the new art gallery. The tour will be led by Douglas Cubbison and Phil Light. This year’s tour will again leave Jumonville Friday morning at 7:30 am and will return to Jumonville for the vendor displays in Wesley Hall. The cost for this year’s bus tour is $150/person and space is limited. The cost also includes a continental breakfast at Jumonville and a boxed lunch, dinner at Fort Ligonier and all admission fees.

Friday evening will feature a dinner at Fort Ligonier’s Visitor Center.

The Friday evening with dinner at Fort Ligonier is not included in the Seminar only registration. That Friday evening event is only for those that are a part of the bus tour, however…

There is an option (for an additional $30 charge) for those not attending the bus tour but that would like to join the group for the late/afternoon evening at Ligonier. This will include the buffet dinner at Fort Ligonier.

Saturday sessions will include the following:

New Questions about the Earthworks at Ft. Necessity

Doug Cubbison will team up with archaeologists from Indiana University of PA to discuss the recent Historic Structures Report that Doug completed concerning the state of the earthworks at Fort Necessity, and the archaeological evidence that raises new questions about them. Brian Reedy will introduce the session.

Young Washington

Peter Stark is a distinguished writer, and has been on the NY Times Best seller list. Hs new book is due out in May, 2018 titled “Young Washington.” He is from Montana.

1764 Bouquet Expedition

Martin West has will speak on his book on the 1764 Bouquet Expedition that was released last fall.

British Perspectives on the Forbes Road?

Dr. Stephen Brumwell, who has a new book out on Benedict Arnold. Topic to be decided.

Cost for the Saturday seminar is $100.

Online registration will no longer be offered after Wednesday, October 31st at noon. Contact the Jumonville office by phone at 724-439-4912 to check on available space for the bus tour. For the Friday night and Saturday seminar you can register at the door on Saturday morning.

As always, book and artists will be attending with one-of-a-kind items for sale. Participants for the bus tour must pre-register and space is limited to the first 56 participants.

REFUND POLICY: There will be no refunds granted within two weeks of the start of the event.

Optional lodging arrangements at Jumonville are available in the Washington Lodge.  
You will have the option of lodging for Thursday night, Friday Night, and/or Saturday night.
