2017 TENTATIVE BASIC SCHEDULE FOR BUS TOUR AND SEMINAR

Friday during the day will feature an optional bus tour of Forbes Road from Fort Loudon to Ligonier. The tour will be led by Douglas Cubbison and Phil Light. This year’s tour will be quite different than the past bus tours and will last for 12 hours. We will leave Jumonville Friday morning at 7:30 am and will return to Jumonville at 7:30 pm. We will hit a number of different locations on the Forbes Road and will include Fort Bedford Museum around lunch time and will end at Fort Ligonier for a tour of the new Visitor’s Center, dinner, and a panel discussion. The cost for this year’s bus tour is $150/person and space is limited to just 56 participants. The cost also includes a continental breakfast at Jumonville and a boxed lunch and all admission fees.

See detailed travel directions for this year’s bus tour.

Friday evening will feature a dinner at Fort Ligonier’s new Visitor Center, followed by presentation by Erica Nuckles which will include an update on Fort Ligonier.

The Friday evening with dinner at Fort Ligonier is not included in the Seminar only registration. That Friday evening event is only for those that are a part of the bus tour, however…

There is an option (for an additional $30 charge) for those not attending the bus tour but that would like to join the group for the late/afternoon evening at Ligonier. This will include the buffet dinner at Fort Ligonier.

Saturday sessions will begin with an overview of the Forbes Road by Phil Light, followed by Dr. Walter Powell’s presentation “Captain Lewis Ourry’s Hobby Horse and the ‘Communication'”, Music of the Forbes Campaign and More by David and Ginger Hildebrand of the Colonial Music Institute, and a lecture by Brady Crytzer on Hugh Mercer. Cost for the Saturday seminar is $75.
